      John Hoke's passion for his art reminds me of my old high school art teacher. Much like Hoke, he would doodle and take in alot from his surroundings for inspiration.

                   Niels Diffrient is very passionate about designing objects. He almost fetishizes it in the way he speaks, for example, saying certain objects have a "romance" about them. It is amazing that so much can go into the design of a chair. So much so that the knowledge from engineering jet planes transfers easily into designing a chair according to Diffrient.

  It is amazing how simple the concept of "design" can seem, yet it is very important in our everyday lives. We are such visual creatures and we navigate most of the world with the visual cues we see in ads, street signs, books, computers, etc. In essence, design is just another form of communication, and, as seen with the traffic signs in this article, a bad design can lead to dangerous miscommunication. This article shows that design is truly a meticulous art.
